FAQs

All the info you need to know, from COVID to visa.

Considering its large population and size, Egypt has been one of the least affected countries by COVID-19 (WHO link), thanks to the prompt measures taken by the government to slow down and control the spread of the virus. In particular, Egypt has worked really hard to protect its tourism industry which is vital for its economy.

  • Do I need a visa to enter Egypt and how much does it cost?
For most nationalities, organising a visa for Egypt can be done on arrival at Sharm International Airport or online via the Egyptian Government's official e-visa portal. This includes citizens of the UK, the EU, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada and Russia. A tourist single entry visa is valid for three months from date of issue and entitles the bearer to one month of travel in Egypt. Visas on arrival can be purchased in British pounds, Euros or US dollars, and only in cash. Currently, the cost for a single entry tourist visa is USD 25.
  • Do I need a COVID-19 test to fly to Egypt?
No, there's no need for a test! Entry requirements for Egypt are the same for all travellers, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. For the latest official updates, visit the gov.uk dedicated page.
  • Do I need a COVID-19 test to fly back to the UK?
No, you don't need any test to fly back to the UK, as of August '22. Official information on entering the UK for vaccinated and non-vaccinated people can be found here.
  • Can I get my money back if I don't end up going because of COVID?
We only require a small deposit to confirm your booking, and rest is to be paid on arrival. If you had to cancel for reasons outside of your control due to Covid, we'll give you the same deposit as credit that you can redeem in the next Habibs 2-week retreat in Dahab. This is purely because when you book with us, there are lots of logistics and organisation involved on our end which we would not able to refund you for.

Our Habibs.life experiences are inclusive and open to everyone, whether you are coming alone, with your other half or friends. The founders of Habibs.life are a diverse, open-minded group from all walks of life. Do get in touch with the team in case you are thinking of coming with friends, we can help accomodate your group in the best way possible!
  • What's the time difference between Egypt & the UK?
Egypt is 1 or 2 hours ahead of London (depending on the time of the year), so pretty great, huh? A 9am-5pm in the UK is a comfortable 10am-6pm OR 11am-7pm in the UK. This gives you plenty of time in the morning to relax, enjoy the sunshine, do some activities such as a scuba dive or a workout; all of which is amazing for your wellbeing and will set you up nicely for a day of work. You will still have plenty of time after work to get food and enjoy some live music with tea and dessert.
  • What’s the temperature like in February & March? And in October?
February - March: On average, temperatures reach a daytime maximum of 26-28 degrees, and fall to 12-14 degrees at night. Feb and March are great months to visit Dahab: warm days and chilly evening. May - June: On average, temperatures reach a daytime maximum of 32-36 degrees, and fall to 22-26 degrees at night. It's proper summer, but not the peak just yet, so the warmth is very enjoyable and the waters are fantastic! So, what are you waiting for, habibi?
