Where is Dahab?

Dahab is a coastal town located on the eastern coast of the Sinai Peninsula, which is part of Egypt. Specifically, it is situated on the Gulf of Aqaba, a body of water between the Sinai Peninsula and Saudi Arabia. It is about 85 kilometers (53 miles) northeast of the famous resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh, about 1 hour by car.

What’s the best time to visit Dahab?

The best time to visit Dahab depends on your preferences and activities. The town enjoys a desert climate, which means that it has hot and dry summers and mild winters. The peak tourist season is during the winter months (December to February), when the weather is pleasantly warm, and the water temperature is comfortable for diving and snorkeling.

However, if you prefer to avoid crowds and don't mind the heat, visiting in the shoulder seasons of March to May or September to November is a good option. During these months, the temperatures are still warm enough for outdoor activities, and the town is generally quieter. Avoid visiting during the summer months (June to August) when temperatures can be scorching.

Our favourite months to visit Dahab are February and October, that’s why we organise our escapes around those times! Check out this page for more info on our trips.
